BackSnacks

The Roadrunner Food Bank, in collaboration Lovington Food Coalition, provides essential monthly distributions aimed at reaching residents facing food insecurity. This local volunteer powered program brings fresh produce, canned goods, and other staples directly to our local community who then distribute them with dignity and care. Through this partnership we are able to reach more households, ensuring that families who might otherwise struggle to access groceries have one less barrier to worry about. Various Lovington Wildcat student organization proudly volunteer their time to serve their community at this event.

Each month we serve an average of over 85 households by providing access to fresh food items.

How the Program Works:

  • Local volunteers gather at the Life Center, located on the campus of the Nazarene Church at 301 S 1st St, Lovington, NM 88260.

  • Recipients form in a line outside the door of the Life Center, recipients are reminded to bring a box/basket to carry their food relief.

  • Roadrunner Food Bank drivers deliver a commercial truck filled with hundreds of pounds of food.

  • Volunteers, along with board members, receive, organize and distribute food.

  • Recipients are checked-in, return to their vehicles and begin to form a mobile line to receive their relief.

  • Volunteers deliver food directly into each vehicle.
