Monthly Food Pantry
Each month, this outreach event brings together local volunteers from Nor-Lea Hospital District, donated and purchased food items and community passion to provide nutritious groceries to families and individuals who find themselves struggling to make ends meet. With dignity and care, recipients receive boxes or bags of staple foods, such as canned vegetables, beans, rice, and sometimes protein like ground beef. This relief is provided alongside friendly support that reminds them they’re not alone. Over time, this monthly gathering has become not just a food pick-up site, but a place of community connection, where neighbors look out for each other and solidarity is shared.
On average, we serve over 100 households each month through the food pantry. We do our best to provide dignity, fellowship and nourishment.
How the Program Works:
The monthly food pantry distribution begins at 4:00 PM on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
Distribution is held at our main office/pantry located on 1215 N Love St, Lovington, NM 88260.
Recipients form a mobile line and stay inside their vehicles. Each vehicle is reminded not to block the driveways of homes located along the street.
Nor-Lea Volunteers along with Lovington Food Coalition President, Rhonda Phillips, organize and assemble food baskets.
Food baskets are delivered directly to each vehicle by volunteers. Each household receives one basket. (baskets are complied of various food relief items.)
